New Mac? Bring your docks, widgets and Pip along

New Mac, same setup. Moving SideDock over takes a few minutes, and most of it is one file.

1. Export your setup

On the old Mac, open Settings › Privacy & Data and choose Export settings. Every dock, widget and preference goes into one file. Put it somewhere the new Mac can reach: AirDrop, a USB stick or your cloud drive.

2. Free up a seat on your license

Your plan covers 1, 3 or 5 Macs. If the old one is leaving, open Settings › Account › Devices and deactivate it there, so its place goes to the new Mac. Already wiped it, or lost it? Write to us and we’ll sort it out.

3. Install and import

On the new Mac, download SideDock, drag it to Applications and enter your license key. It’s in your purchase email, and the Recover license page sends it again if you can’t find it. Then open Settings › Privacy & Data › Import settings, pick the file, and your docks come back exactly where they were.

4. Add back your keys

API keys and sign-ins stay in the old Mac’s Keychain and don’t travel in the file, on purpose. Add your AI provider again in Settings, sign in to the widgets that need it, and say yes to the macOS permissions as they come up.

5. Leave the old Mac tidy

Giving it away? Settings › Privacy & Data › Uninstall removes SideDock cleanly: the links it added to other apps, opening at login, and its folder, which goes to the Trash.
